Worn out drive motor brushes could very well be the reason why your treadmill belt isn't moving. You should be doing routine maintenance on your machine at least once every 3 months if you're a casual user, and part of that maintenance check should be checking to see if your drive motor brushes are still in good condition. Another check you should do is see if the commutator is clean. Over time they get dirty with carbon from the brush constantly rubbing against it. This can actually prevent the brush from making proper contact with the commutator which causes the drive motor not to function as it should. You'll want to clean the commutator with a commutator stone. We sell these right on our website if you need some. And if you need some replacement brushes you can find some on our website for your specific model: https://www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/
So when do you know you need a brush replacement?
1. When you see they have cracks or any breakage in them.
2. When the brush has been worn to about 3/8ths or 1/4th left.
What are some signs that your brushes are wearing out?
1. If you see sparks coming from your drive motor.
2. If you smell a burning smell coming from the drive motor AT THIS POINT DEFINITELY REPLACE THEM!
